Forum IRCAM: a community of users

The vocation of the Forum is to bring together knowledge and skills in a spirit of sharing. The Forum proposes four software packages in addition to a number of activities and services.

The Software

The four software packages are designed with specific users in mind - composers, multimedia artists, visual artists, sound engineers, sound designers, researchers, teachers - who have different cultures and different needs:

Forum Studio: for studio and postproduction professionals.

Forum Research: for artists interested in research and experimentation.

Forum Education: for students and instructors in schools and music conservatories.

Forum Free: for free software enthusiasts.

Services

The Forum offers:

• a space reserved for members on the Forumnet website that includes discussions and resources
• a three-day workshop at IRCAM every year
• technical support via e-mail, telephone, or fax
• free access to the IRCAM multimedia library.

And:

Forum members are eligible for discounts on training courses organized by the Department of Education and Cultural Outreach: discounts of 1/3 for organizations and 2/3 for individuals, on ticket prices for performances (reduced price tickets for the Season's concerts and the June Agora Festival), and on IRCAM publications (5-10% discounts on CDs, books, CD-ROMs, and sound samples).
