With the goal of promoting a dialogue with the free software community, the Forum Free offers access to software created at IRCAM (such as the FTM library or the Xpect software program) or elsewhere (such as MIDI-Share by Grame).

FTM & Co
FTM is an extension for Max/MSP and PureData providing a small and simple real-time object system and a set of optimized services.
FTM standard packages (included in the free releases):
- Gabor, an FTM based library for granular, additive, and formant synthesis.
- MnM, an FTM based library of objects for classification, recognition, and "mapping" designed for gesture capture.
- CataRT, an FTM based library that enables the synthesis of sound
samples organized by sound descriptors via concatenation.

Ejies is a collection of forty abstractions, JavaScripts, and Java externals for Max/MSP-Jitter.

Xspect
XSpect is a graphical editor intended for the display, analysis, and edition of sound signals. Developed for the needs of the IRCAM Analysis-Synthesis team, it makes it possible to carry out precise and extendable treatments.
Xspect is based on Motif/Xwindows and can be installed on machines equipped with Linux and Apple OSX.
