Beau Travail, Interactive Musical & Visual Installation by Jean-Baptiste Barrière

at Scène nationale de Sénart 18 – 19 avril 2013

Beyond their primary functions, do gestures of work have a beauty by themselves?

The visitor who enters the installation is invited to sketch the gestures of his own work in front of a strange electronic mirror.
These gestures are analyzed in real time by computer, compared, put in relations with others recorded in the mirror memory, and immediately transformed, prolongated, metamorphosed, in a attempt to reveal their potential hidden beauty.
Beauty of gesture, beautfil gesture, beautiful work?
Everyone is invited, literally to reflect about it.

– Conception & realization, music & image: Jean-Baptiste Barrière
