Kiwi: Towards an environment for realtime collaborative music creation
Feb. 5th, 2018
6:00 PM- 6:55 PM
The ANR-funded MUSICOLL project (2016-2018) aims at redesigning the musical practice of realtime graphical computing in a collaborative manner. Hosted at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris Nord, it brings together the Centre de Recherche en Informatique et Création Musicale (CICM) belonging to MUSIDANSE Lab at Paris 8 University and OhmForce company specialized in collaborative digital audio.
In this framework, we develop Kiwi, an environment for realtime collaborative music creation enabling to several creators to simultaneously work on the production of a sound process hosted online. We concurrently design a new course in patching for beginners that will be tought at Paris 8 University from february to may 2018. We will present this software, run a demo and talk about the reworking of our teaching in realtime sound processing.
Participants (CICM): Alain Bonardi, Philippe Galleron, Eric Maestri, Jean Millot, Eliott Paris, Anne Sèdes
