Bonjour Coralie,

Merci,
Robert

Hi Mauro!

Does the Moebius computation reach its term successfully?
You shall include the file, if you don’t mind.

Hi Coralie,

I am unpiling old messages (and this is a rather old one, and I realized you were left in the dark… sorry!!)
Could you please recheck this with the latest version of Modalys (3.5.0) when you get a chance?
I can no longer reproduce it on my side.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Lorenzo!

We are unable to reproduce the above mentioned problems, whether under Mac OS 10.10 or 10.12.
Moreover, the modalys~ help crash reminds me an old bug, yet fixed for a couple of versions…

Are you sure Max is not pointing to some old modalys objects or package?.. It really sounds like that…

Hi Matt,

We did find a fix for this crash, and we will release a patch hopefully this week!

Thanks,

Hi Axel,

It is best to use the ‘Modalys for Max’ library.
That said, beside OpenMusic (OM), there is also a stand-alone application called ‘Modalisp’ which is text-based (using lisp language).

Hi Matt,

The Modalisp crash has been fixed internally and the fix is scheduled for a coming soon release!

Hi Matt,

We’re investigating both crashes. They seem to be specific to Sierra.
Thanks for your patience!

I’ll be in touch,

Hi Coralie,

The message does exist, but the code is not currently hooked up.
Logging this as a feature request.

Question: what behavior would you actually expect from the message “save” ? Which syntax ?

Thanks!

Hi Coralie,

The 3rd argument is the update period for the controller.
0 means “every sample” and -1 “when necessary”, so -1 is better! I guess it’s some legacy parameter, but to my opinion, it should not even be exposed.
To be short: -1 is safe in every case.

Hello Coralie,

Better late than never… I am trying to catch up your posts over the past weeks… (so starting from the oldest…)

This behavior is by design: mode selection can only be specified statically, within the object’s inspector.
Sending a message with @modes-selection does nothing.
I can see traces of code to make it dynamic, but I have never completed it! :-0

Please let me know if it does the trick on your side, too.
Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Hi Tyler,

We could find a Windows machine illustrating the problem.
I am currently getting a Windows 10 machine ready for testing, and will keep you posted!

Update: can’t see it more closely now. Looks like a dependency issue.
Digging more…

Hi Gundorf and Thoyt,

Sorry for this.
However I don’t see any issue with:
– Windows 8 (64bit)
– Max 6.1, 32 or 64bit
(screenshot attached, for what it is worth!)

Are you sure you have the latest version (3.4.2), with the modalys package well located and all?

On my side, I’ll see if I can find another machine, but not sure it’s a factor.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Nadir,

The minimum requirement is in fact 10.7 for the importer (and soon for Antescofo itself).
As Arshia explained, the technical reason is because we’re fast moving towards “C++11″, and, for some reason, MacOS only supports this technology from 10.7 on.

I hope you can also move to 10.7 so to enjoy the latest features of Antescofo.

Let me know is this is unclear.

Cheers,
Robert

Dear Cluster5,

First sorry to get back to you with such a delay!
You’re right when you say that the doc for finite elements is somehow outdated. This is a department that we want to improve over the coming months.

I am working right now on a simple Modalys 3D example for you, and will post it later today.

Thanks for your patience,

Hi Jonathan,

Sorry for the long delay in replying!

The access measurement is always “normalized”, that is between 0 and 1.

So if you have a 0.5 meter string, the access at 0.1 will correspond to a physical point at 0.05 m from one side.

I hope this helps,
Robert

Hi Mark,

A graphical (and historical) approach of Modalys can be found in OpenMusic.
You can download OpenMusic for free and then use the Modalys OpenMusic component found in the regular Modalys distribution (/Applications/Modalys/Components/OpenMusic/).

That said, this is more for non real-time use.

Good luck,
Robert

Hi again Christopher,

Your patch opens without this nasty ProtectLibV7 error.
I am using Modalys 3.4 on various setups.
It opens fine with either Max 5.1.8 or 6.1.6.

Also, the latest ForumMaxApps work well on 5.1.8 (the Modalys side – don’t know about other technos…)

Karim, does it ring any bell for you? A quick google search reveals that this problem has been come across by other people in the past.

Cheers,

Hi Paul!

Regarding the Windset trombone, I’ll do some archeology and will get back to you.

As far as mlys objects, we are in the process of completing the corresponding help files. That should in the next ‘minor’ update (3.4.1).
