FTM is an extension for Max/MSP providing a small and simple real-time object system and a set of optimized services.

The basic idea of FTM is to extend the data types exchanged between the objects in a Max/MSP patch by more powerful data structures such as sequences, matrices, dictionaries, break point functions, optimized for the processing of music, sound, and motion capture data.
FTM standard packages (included in the free releases at http://ftm.ircam.fr):
- Gabor, an FTM based library for granular, additive, and formant synthesis.
- MnM, an FTM based library of objects for classification, recognition, and “mapping” designed for gesture capture.
- CataRT source, an FTM based library that enables the synthesis of sound
samples organized by sound descriptors via concatenation, available at http://imtr.ircam.fr/index.php/CataRT.
