Hi Johannes,

Sorry for this long delay.

So, yes, we are currently involved in the development of AudioSculpt 4. We talked a bit about it during the last Forum and
presented a first overview/draft of its graphical user interface. (The UI will follow the same design guidelines as The Snail)

AudioSculpt has always been a receptacle for the researches of the Analysis/Synthesis team. So the 4 will keep on with this legacy.
But at IRCAM, different departments (the Analysis-Synthesis Team, the Valorisation and part of the Production) decided that it was needed to modernize it to allow us :
– to exploit better the new and various technologies the Analysis/Synthesis team has been working on this past years.
– open it to new functions/possibilities that are not possible in AS3
– try to match more the audio production specific needs
– improve the user experience.
– and still retain the legacy from all the people who have been developing it since the beginning.

You’ll get more news and a more exhaustive list of features during the fourth quarter of this year :)
