Hi everyone,

Here is a link to my book “The Musical Fundamentals of Computer Assisted Composition”. It is a new beginners book in CAC, and it is not written with any particular software in mind. It does however contain patch examples using OpenMusic. You will find a number of preview pages and links to the amazon store by following the link below.

I got the book yesterday evening, and finished at breakfast. As Mr. Sandred writes, it is not a manual, but it is an introduction to the topic. If one has been using Open Music for 20 years or only two months, this is a must.

This is really nicely done. I very much enjoyed reading it Örjan. It’s lovely to read a book that is
both written in a friendly way and yet is absolutely informative.

I will put this on my list for my CAC composition course next year.

Unfortunately though, I think PWGL has dropped support for windows which will rule out most of my students on
that platform! However, given the OM windows version is impressively excellent, I will probably stick with that for now.

Thank you for putting this together,

Best
Ambrose
