spat.oper pop-ups when going to full screen

Dear Thibaut,

I stumbled upon this bug that seems to popup the spat5.oper window or the spat5.help window when going to full screen somewhere else in my patch.

I am not able to close the window by clicking on the red button of the window but I have to open the window for real with the open message in order to be able to close it.

Using MAX 7 latest version on a 10.9.5 system. Spat5 version not completely clear (where can I find it?). I cannot download the latest version to test since I am waiting for my institutions subscription renewal.

Here is my example.

Hi Hans,

Could you please also include/send the “spat5NoDynamicDSP” patcher.
It is missing in your copy-compressed Max patch.

The version number can be retrieved by:
– sending “/post/version” to any spat5 object
– checking the Max package infos (in the Package Manager)
– checking the Max external infos in the macOS Finder.

Thanks,
T.

Hi Thibaut,

Thanks for the very quick response and sorry for forgetting the patcher.

Version 5.01

here is the abstraction “spat5NoDynamicDSP”. By the way when I make a subpatcher of it it does not exhibit the same behaviour…

OK, I see.
Attached an updated version that should — I hope — sort of fix the issue. Let me know how it goes.

Very quick again.

I can now click the window away but still the pop-up shows up. The help window, the snapshot window, the colours. It seems to be a different window each time I click though.

Hmmm, and if I repeat the action even more I cannot click away some of the later windows. I see all kinds of windows floating by: compressor, help window, status window, shapshot window, key mapping window. source #1, #2, #3m etcetera…. The order seems fixed. Sources can be clicked away though, some repeated pop-ups not. When I am at the window titled source #9 no new windows seem to pop-up.

Hi Hans,

Could you maybe send a screen recording so that I can better understand the issue ?

Thanks,
T.

Sorry, I missed that you replied again.

I made a screen movie. I toggle fullscreen with the escape button on my mac keyboard and I click in the patcher window to move the spat window to the background.

Best, Hans.

Hi Hans,

I don’t have screenflow. Could you please export the video in another format ?

Thanks,
T.

I was too quick of course. This should do the trick probably.

Hum… This is definitely weird and never seen before.
Either there is something strange with your OS — as it seems a bit old — (but this is no very likely) or some sort of “mistake” in your patch.
Could you send the whole project (all patchers + dependencies) and basic instructions to run it and reproduce the issue ?

Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Hi Thibaut,

Sending the whole patch is too much but what I send earlier already exhibits this behaviour. I attached a screen movie to show you with the simplified patch…

Best, Hans.

Hi Thibaut,

Just downloaded the newest spat version. The behaviour remains.

Best, Hans.
